Women’s 2020 Spring Retreat

Apr, 24, 2020

Register online today if you are a woman in search of rest, renewal, fellowship, fun, friendship, laughter, spiritual growth and joy at the annual Women’s Retreat, April 24-26. Hosted by PW (Presbyterian Women), the retreat will be at Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville April 24-26.

Retreat Leader will be the Reverend Dr. Jan Edmiston, General Presbyter of the Presbytery of Charlotte. Her topic will be Flip This (Spiritual) House. The retreat topic is loosely based on the reality TV show Flip This House. Sessions will look at building our spiritual homes through steps that include:

  • Curb appeal (on the outside we can look like everything’s great when behind the scenes we may be a hot mess;
  • Making our lives a DIY project versus the four scariest words in the Bible, “Thy will be done”;
  • Added value when God uses everything and everybody in our lives: the rich (and the poor), the respected (and the disrespected), the honorable (and the dishonorable).

Dr. Edmiston grew up in Chapel Hill, NC. She is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, Andover-Newton Theological Seminary, and Columbia Theological Seminary. She was a pastor in upstate New York and Northern Virginia for 27 years, then served as Associate Executive Presbyter in the Presbytery of Chicago for six years. She served as Co-Moderator of the 222nd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA from 2016 to 2018, when she was installed as the General Presbyter for the Presbytery of Charlotte.

Registration will be online through March 23, as well as on Sunday mornings March 1, 8, 15 and 22. You may also request a registration form by calling the reception desk (704-332-5123) or dropping by the church during the week.
