Immediately following the Advent service on Wednesday, December 2, Presbyterian Women will host a virtual gathering. While it’s not possible to share a meal this year, we will still be able to connect. RSVP online no later than Monday, December 1, to access the general zoom link to participate. Following a brief welcome, you will be able to select a link to choose the breakout session you prefer—cooking, decorating, making Crismons, or a conversation about traditions and memories. Immediately following the Advent service on Wednesday, December 2, PW (Presbyterian Women) will host virtual craft and fellowship opportunities from noon-1:30 p.m. Breakout sessions will follow a brief welcome and information from PW. Breakout sessions include:
- Cooking: Learn how to cook an easy and delicious breakfast or snack from Cheryl Hoover, who will share her concept of a “pharmacy in your kitchen. A registered pharmacist, cancer survivor and cook with a certification in plant-based nuitrition, Cheryl is the co-author of Healthy Living for a Sharper Mind.
- Chrismons: The Reverend Robert Galloway, FPC Associate Pastor for Christian Formation and Young Adults, will discuss the history and meaning of Chrismons, symbols used during Advent and Christmas. He will also preview h ow to make yo ur own needlepoint or cross stitch ornament.
- Decorating: Diane Maye, a Deacon and FPC receptionist, is renowned for her talent in providing beautiful flower arrangements for Sunday mornings and throughout the church. In this session, be inspired by creative ideas for table decorations, collection displays and front door pieces for your home.
- Traditions and Memories: FPC Parish Associate the Reverend Chuck Williamson will lead a discussion about Christmas traditions—including some unusual observances—and some of your favorite stories and memories.
Note: All sessions will be recorded and available online soon after the event. In addition, the recipes/supplies/instructions for each session will be provided so that you may eat the treats, enjoy the decorations and create the treasures throughout Advent!
