Centering Prayer Class

Mar, 9, 2019

Whether you are new to Centering Prayer or would like to refresh your current practice, you are invited to join us for a Centering Prayer Class on Saturday, March 9, three days after Ash Wednesday, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us. It adds depth of meaning to all prayer and facilitates the movement from more active modes of prayer into a receptive prayer of “resting in God.”

The class will be presented by Pastors Deborah Conner and Richard Little. Deborah is the Coordinator of Contemplative Outreach of Piedmont NC and the Pastor for Congregational Care at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. Dick is a retired Lutheran pastor who last served as the Senior Pastor of Advent Lutheran Church.

This class was offered 10 years ago at First Presbyterian, and more than 80 people attended. Since then, the local chapter of Contemplative Outreach has presented more than 30 classes in Charlotte-area churches.

Your $35 registration includes lunch.

If you have questions, please contact Gibbs Ives or Burt Melton.
