Andrew Glontz, the recipient of this year’s Will Appleby Award for Spirit, Dedication and Leadership is a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church and is the son of Anne and David Glontz.
Andrew is a senior at Myers Park High School and will attend Wofford College in the fall. He has been active in the youth program since middle school, serving on the Youth Council and faithfully attending PYC. He has participated in Youth Sunday, as well as the Mexico mission trip. He also played on the FPC basketball team for several years. Youth group has been a priority in Andrew’s life that has provided many meaningful experiences. The past couple of summers, Andrew attended the Montreat Youth Conference where he especially enjoyed “back home” time with the FPC youth.
The Appleby Award was founded in memory of Will Appleby, an active and committed member of the youth program at First Presbyterian who died during his freshman year in college. Each year, the Appleby Award recognizes a member of the youth program for outstanding participation and leadership.
