“…music is about as physical as it gets: your essential rhythm is your heartbeat; your essential sound, the breath. We’re walking temples of noise, and when you add tender hearts to this mix, it somehow lets us meet in places we couldn’t get to any other way.”
– Anne Lamott, Traveling Mercies: Some Thoughts on Faith
We celebrate Pentecost on June 4 with Music Sunday during the one service at 11 a.m.
The pastors, Sanctuary Choir and guest instrumentalists will lead a music-filled service that has become a tradition the past two years. This year’s service, Voices of Faith, will include reflections from theologians from Anselm to Anne Lamott, woven together with music that ranges from a 20th Century classical composition by Aaron Copland to Gospel to an instrumental marimba solo.
Following the 11 a.m. service, plan to stay for Food Truck Lunch on the lawn.
