Children’s Vocal Choirs
A Child’s Introduction to Music (Grades K, 1) These choirs provides children with the opportunity to enjoy music through singing, rhythm games, and the use of rhythm and pitch “Orff” instruments. The choirs are not formal singing choirs, but the children sing as part of special programs and participate in worship twice a year.
Rehearsals: Wednesdays – 6:15-7:15pm
Carol Choir (Grades 2, 3) Members of the Carol Choir receive valuable training in rhythm and rhythmic movement, matching pitches, and learning basic music symbols. Each year the singers have a themed notebook that introduces them new aspects of worship through hymns, puzzles and worksheets. They participate in worship or special programs six times during the year.
Rehearsals: Wednesdays – 6:15-7:15pm
Kirk Choir (Grades 4, 5) New rhythmic anthems and accompaniment make the music appealing to this age group. Participants in this choir explore the Presbyterian Hymnal and learn about worship. They participate in worship of special programs six times during the year.
Rehearsals: Wednesdays – 6:15-7:15pm
