Children and Youth Handbell Choirs
CHILDRENS BELLS
Chime Choirs (Grades 4, 5) This is an introduction to hand chime instruments. Space is limited to 12 ringers and children must participate in the vocal choir for their age, the Kirk Choir, in order to be part of Chime Choir.
Rehearsals: Wednesdays – 5:15-5:45
YOUTH BELLS
Membership in each of the handbell choirs is limited to 10 ringers. Ringers are placed in the choirs based on age, experience, skill and yearly openings in the individual choirs.
Celtic Handbell Ringers (Grades 6, 7) This group is the beginning handbell group for new ringers or those with minimal ringing experience. They ring in worship several times throughout the year and at other special programs.
Rehearsals: Mondays – 6:30-7:30pm
Knox Handbell Ringers (Grades 7, 8, 9) This group is open to ringers with prior handbell experience. They ring in worship approximately every two months and also at special programs throughout the year.
Rehearsals: Mondays – 6:30-7:30pm
Ivey Handbell Ringers (Grades 9-12) This group is open to experienced handbell ringers. They ring in worship and on special occasions throughout the year. They accept outside engagements and take a two-week concert tour each summer.
Rehearsals: Mondays - 7:40-8:55pm
