 The regional and global ministries of First Presbyterian span continents and issue areas, with mission teams and mission dollars supporting ministries ranging from the Gulf Coast to Haiti, Russia, Chad, India, and the Yucatan to name a few. These ministries develop churches, schools, pastors and learning centers and equip Presbyterian missionaries, and help our members to build powerful relationships with their brothers and sisters in Christ around the globe.
Through our Regional and Global mission efforts at First Presbyterian, we seek to identify, cultivate, and nurture partnerships in God's service with church communities within the United States, outside of Mecklenburg County, and around the world. We intend to support our mission partners through a ministry of presence that includes prayer, work trips, monetary and in-kind donations.
We also seek to deepen and broaden our congregation's understanding of and connections with these mission partners, so that the First Presbyterian community gains insight into and compassion for the work of the Church, regionally and globally. By serving in this way, we seek to respond to Christ's Great Commission and fulfill the call stated in Paul's Letter to the Ephesians, "For we
are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
