Child and Family Outreach Ministries is one way First Presbyterian Church lives for Christ and the heart of Charlotte.

 

We believe God came to us in Jesus Christ to call us into relationship with God and one another, saying, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself."

 

We believe that being a Christian, a follower of Christ, is to pursue this profound direction as the great passion of our lives – and – we believe that we can only do this in relationship with others.

 

So, we invite you to engage with members of the First Presbyterian Church, Westerly Hills Elementary School, and the Lakewood Community as we seek to create opportunities for friendship, mutual learning, strengthening families, and infusing children with a hunger for the abundant life God offers each of us.

 

We envision a city wherein children may play safely in the streets, men and women may live whole and fruitful lives, and elder men and women may live out their days in joy and peace.

 

We partner with Westerly Hills Elementary School and the Lakewood neighborhood to provide safe and enriching opportunities for children and families who live and learn in our city’s fragile neighborhoods, through investments such as the Camp Grier Summer Program, the summer BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life) camp, the Westerly Hills Faith-School Partnership, and the Lakewood Neighborhood Partnership.
