Child Development Center
 Classrooms & Curriculum
We practice a “learn through play” approach to learning. Through guided play, children learn math, reading, writing, science, social skills, etc. Our teachers choose books, toys, games, songs, activities and field trips that encourage children to learn. Our classrooms, church, neighborhood and entire community are also available as important learning environments for children.
As a NAEYC accredited center, we believe in Developmentally Appropriate Practice. We work with children at their developmental “age” and provide an environment that is appropriate for all individual children. Our environment is safe and nurturing for all children and adults and we have an open door policy where parents are welcome to visit.
Periods of vigorous activities and quiet times will be alternately scheduled during the day. Per state guidelines, a time for outdoor play will be provided daily, except in extreme weather. Active exercise will be encouraged.
Our teaching teams develop weekly lesson plans based on the interests of children in their care. Lesson plans include ways for children to develop in areas of science, language, home life, art, music and math. In addition, our preschoolers enhance their learning through extra curricular classes here on site. These classes include music, Spanish, Gymnastics, Theater and Christian Education. Preschoolers also travel to the public library for story time and Spirit Square for Arts Lab on a monthly basis.
Our program also strives to support the kind of living experience that encourages understanding, acceptance and appreciation of all things that contribute to the individuality of each child. We aim to build, nurture and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual.
