"Seeing the Faith"
- On the first Sunday of the month, beginning on October 5th, Amy Gray and Mary Edith Alexander will use the Voyager class time to lead a "view" into eight central New Testament events through the medium of great works of art. Each class will use three or four great works of art, from classical to contemporary, to enrich the depiction of the biblical story's account. We will be asking if the artist has accurately grasped the heart of the event or perhaps misled us. As this series progresses an expanding exhibition will be gathered and so by year's end some three dozen or so paintings will adorn Fellowship Hall each Sunday morning. Most of the other classes have indicated that they will be attending these special times on those Sundays. Led by Amy Gray and Mary Edith Alexander. All are invited.

Cornerstone Class
- Led by The Rev. Wes Barry, this class is intended for young adults and others. The Fall program, starting on August 31st, is full of promise. "From Adam to Joseph," the Book of Genesis is the opening act to God's narrative. Our class will be a discussion driven exploration of the Genesis story in order that we may discover its application to our daily lives. Each week we will be diving into different texts. So, join us for one or all of the classes this Fall. This class will meet in P209 and will join the "Seeing the Faith" series on the first Sunday of each month.

Emmaus
- Led by The Rev. Katherine Cooke, Emmaus is a conversational class open to all interested adults. Starting on October 12, each week we will examine a question of faith, and so the class topics will vary widely. Some potential topics to be discussed include Reformed faith and belief, infant baptism, salvation, the church, evil, and the sovereignty of God. Participants will be encouraged to offer their own faith questions as topics for class discussion. Each class will be an independent unit and there is no outside reading. This class will meet in P205. This class will join "Seeing the Faith" series on the first Sunday of each month.

Explorer Class
- With various teachers and coordinated by Libby Bell and Lisa Neely, this class is designed primarily, but not exclusively, for married adults with younger children. Starting on September 14th, the Fall program is entitled "God's Promises to us: understanding the Covenants and how they apply." Have you ever considered how Moses and the burning bush is foundational in your marriage contract or your mortgage loan? If you tend to skim and skip over the books of Numbers and Leviticus then this is the class for you! Come and consider covenants such as marriage and family, citizenship and community, our place in nature and the environment and church membership as well as less formal arrangements we make when we begin a task or develop a trusting relationship. This class will meet in P206. This class will join the "Seeing the Faith" series on the first Sunday of each month.

Frances Browne Class
- Coordinated by Minna Elliott, this is a discussion based class which explores a wide range of faith issues in a desire to develop and encourage deeper spirituality and maturity for mid-life adults. A variety of professional and lay leaders is used. The Rev. Katie Crowe will be leading a series in the early part of the Fall, starting on September 14th, and then two class members will conduct a study of the Joseph cycle from Genesis. This class will meet in P212 and will join the "Seeing the Faith" series on the first Sunday each month.

Open Forum
- A multi-generation class which strives to create an atmosphere of free discussion and sharing as members study a wide range of topics including local and national issues, biblical texts and religious themes in literature, films and plays, while also seeking the faith response to social issues of the day. The coordinators are Melanie Twyne and Peter Buck, and many guest teachers are used from both within the congregation and the broader academic and civic communities. Starting on September 14th, the initial program offers three weeks on "politics and religion." This class meets in S203.

Voyager
- Coordinated by the Rev. Dr. Jim Miller, Voyager will start on September 14th. It is intended for any adult at any age or stage of faith development and interested in learning more. Members are taken on a "voyage" across a wide range of topics with the promised destination of deeper understanding and richer commitment. The Fall program will bear the general title "The Blood of the Martyrs." It will be an examination of three core eras of church history. The spirit of Joseph's statement to his brothers that what they intended for evil God intended for good, was echoed by the great Tertullian as he declared that "the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church." Dr. Miller will lead a review of the eras of the early church persecutions and of the Crusades, and then The Rev. Katie Crowe will offer a review of the German Church struggle leading to the creation of the Barmen Declaration. This class meets in Fellowship Hall and will, of course, be part of the "Seeing the Faith" series on the first Sunday of each month.
