The Reverend Roland P. Perdue III 
Interim Senior Minister

The Rev. Roland P. Perdue III grew up in Georgia and now calls Texas home, but he has strong ties to North Carolina. He and his wife, Jane, met while they attended UNC-Chapel Hill. After graduating from Columbia Seminary, Pastor Perdue served as Solo Pastor, Campus Pastor and Senior Pastor for congregations in Georgia, Texas, Florida and Michigan. Over the past 10 years, he has served as Interim Senior Minister for a variety of congregations including Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York, First Presbyterian Church in Nashville, and most recently, White Memorial Presbyterian in Raleigh. Pastor Perdue has five children and 10 grandchildren.

The Reverend Kathleen A. Crowe was elected Associate Minister for Service and Missions in August 2004. Originally from Stevens Point, Wisconsin, she grew up in Alpharetta, Georgia. Katie attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia, with a Religion and Philosophy major and Women's Studies minor. It was here that she met her husband, Rob. She attended Princeton Theological Seminary and graduated in 2003 with her Masters of Divinity degree. After her graduation from seminary, Katie completed a yearlong Clinical Pastoral Education Residency serving as a chaplain at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
 

Katherine CookeThe Reverend Katherine Cooke Kerr

The Reverend Katherine C. Kerr began work as Associate Minister for Pastoral Care and Congregational Life in January 2008. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Katherine is a graduate of Davidson College. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from Wake Forest University and a Master’s in Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Prior to attending seminary, Katherine worked in the nonprofit sector and also in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.Katherine was ordained in 2005 and served as Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Oxford, Mississippi prior to coming back to Charlotte.  Katherine is married to Bill Kerr.

 

Wes BarryThe Reverend Wesley B. Barry
Associate Minister for Evangelism and Administration

Wesley Barry graduated from Davidson College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. Most recently, he completed his Master of Divinity studies at Princeton Theological Seminary, and was called to First Presbyterian as Associate Minister for Evangelism and Administration. Wes spent several years between school in Charlotte at Providence Presbyterian and as a Young Life Church-partner. He was ordained in December 2007.

Wes, who grew up in Atlanta, has returned to Charlotte with his wife, Lindsay, and their daughter and triplet sons. Wes is excited to serve the burgeoning uptown population as First Presbyterian seeks to reach out to the young professionals and new residents moving into our community. 
 

 

The Reverend J. Kirkland Hall, IV
Associate Minister for Christian Education

Born and raised in Charlotte, Kirk graduated from Davidson in 1994 before working with a local business. After joining First Presbyterian Church, Kirk received a "Church in Vocation" scholarship in 1999 that led him to Columbia Theological Seminary. While there, he served in a congregational setting in Montana, a Hospice in-patient unit in Atlanta, and in two small communities in El Salvador before completing his Master of Divinity degree in 2003. He then earned a Master of Theology degree from the New College School of Divinity at the University of Edinburgh. For that past five years, Kirk served as the Associate Pastor with the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington while his wife, Amy, completed her Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Florida. Kirk and Amy have one daughter, Fae.
